On the occasion of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, DAV Sr. Sec. Public School, Ambala City celebrated this day with great enthusiasm as 'Swachhata Hi Seva' in the premises of School. The students of the school participated enthusiastically in this and they did shramdaan in the school premises and also vowed that they will not use plastic and make others aware of it. Under this 'Swachhata Hi Sewa' Painting, poetry, skit competition, Pledge in the Morning Assembly, declamation competition, slogan writing and cleanliness awareness, Personal Hygiene, Hand Wash Day and Say No to Single Use Plastic, Anti Cracker rallies were also organized in the school by Eco Club and Science Club.
The school's principal, Dr. R.R. Suri, congratulated the children on Gandhi Jayanti. He told the children that the main objective of this program is to empower cleanliness and environment and to promote respect for labor and the spirit of labor service among the youth. Gandhi ji gave an important place to cleanliness and always made people aware of it.
